Wednesday Wishes #15

The Seattle Smiths Wishful Wednesday topic this week is all about diet. I wish I had the willpower to stay on one particular diet and it would be...

I can honestly say that I've never been on a diet program, and I probably never will be. I LOVE food, and I won't deny myself a taste of something, so diets don't exist for me. I do, however, wish that I could stick to a workout program.

I definitely have 15-20 extra poundage that I'd like to lose, and I know if I exercised on a regular basis that it would come off. I've done various pilates programs, and I saw results, but those ended when I got pregnant with AZ. I've also tried the P90X workout program, and it kicked my butt - and not in a good way. Those workouts are at least an hour a day, and though I saw results in my arms almost immediately, it was too time consuming for my schedule. I know I sound lazy, but I was driving myself crazy with no down time. And working out is NOT down time.

So, I'm on the hunt for a workout program that works for me in my schedule. I just put some 10-minute workout videos in my instant queue on Netflix, so we'll see how those go. And I'll also be getting the 30 day shred Jillian Michaels DVD soon, too. Gotta love Netflix. What workouts have you done where you've gotten noticeable results?

Do you have any other wishes this week?

  1. Warning! Jillian Michaels is a mean, mean lady!!
No, really, (I mean, she still is mean), but I like her work out DVDs (on mute). I have the 30 Day Shred and there are 3 levels, each 20 minutes. You can do Level 1 over and over again until you are cardio-comfy enough to move on. It is a great way to work out.
    Good luck!

  2. I'm with you. I like to eat, and most of the time, minus a constant battle with salty food, I eat okay. It's the exercise I really need. But finding the time, well, that's the hard part!

  3. Good for you and putting a few workout shows in the queue ... it's a start!!! Good luck with it all.

  4. I hate dieting and working out. Beat that. LOL

I've been doing the Just Dance for Wii and practicing one song for about 30 minutes 3 times a week. I easily shed 5 lbs within a week of doing that. I gained it back though, because I've been sick and eating terribly! It's really fun though, and a good workout without really feeling like you're working out.

  5. I absolutely love all of the Walk Away The Pounds dvds by Leslie Sansone. I've seen great results with her & a friend of mine lost a ton of weight while using her dvd's. She has a great testimony with WATP & was even able to be in one of the dvd's. I believe it was the 5 mile walk.

  6. I'm working on 30 Day Shred right now and blogging about it. There are definitely times it kicks my butt, but in a good way! The workouts aren't too long and I feel great after!

    Good luck to you!

  7. Ooo, I love "Walk Away the Pounds" by Leslie Sansone! :D

And btw, there's a weight loss plan that doesn't require you to give up the foods you love -- The Eden Diet (but, don't be fooled by the name, as it's not a "diet" in the traditional sense of the word -- there are NO restrictions!).
